LOL I have a nice, large terra cotta Jack-o-Lantern I sit outside. It's lit with an electric candle that flickers so it looks like the real thing. Re decorating an apartment, a single candle or a jack-o-lantern in a window facing the street can be effective. :)Jean Robertahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08805088081675965859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396437919069310850.post-62596802368185662882016-10-29T21:29:39.413-04:002016-10-29T21:29:39.413-04:00I love the sound of that display! I just posted an update to my post with a picture of my display from the movie "The Ring". I had a blast making that display and it looked very realistic. It really looks like a woman climbing out of a well, especially the way the breeze caught her hair. I also hung sticks in the trees that looked like the sticks from "The Blair Witch Project". As soon as we live in a single family home again I'm making more Halloween displays. Right now we live in an apartment. I just love Halloween. My favorite time of year.Elizabeth Blackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02322056244180901707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396437919069310850.post-85483536252138390442016-10-29T14:10:35.439-04:002016-10-29T14:10:35.439-04:00Cool stuff! My partner and I have some Halloween decorations we treasure (including a realistic-looking bat that can be hung from an overhead fixture), but we miss the porch we had in our rented house, pre-2000, which we used to decorate for the trick-or-treaters. We would make a life-sized witch out of black clothes stuffed with old newspapers, with a balloon covered by a mask for the head, topped by a wig and a witch hat. We sat her in a rocking chair, with candles and a jack-o-lantern nearby. Kids walked carefully around the witch, but they loved the ambience! Change one letter and it's the story of my life." LOL

That party sounds like great fun. I can imagine how everyone laughed about bobbing for mice. The most fun I had was working costumes for a haunted forest Halloween event about 20 years ago. It was outdoors in the woods complete with a haunted forest hayride. I also read palms for free as a fortune teller, and I was quite good at doing cold readings on people. It was the Sherlock Holmes School Of Observation method of fortune telling. I surprised myself how accurate I was. My line was miles long. Us free fakers pissed off the real fortune teller who was charging $25 per fortune. Good times!

Have a very happy Halloween. I stocked up on Mounds bars and Hershey bars with almonds for the kids. Really. That candy is for the kids. I mean it. :)
Elizabeth Blackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02322056244180901707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7396437919069310850.post-63885147491046356802016-10-28T09:24:28.123-04:002016-10-28T09:24:28.123-04:00Love the sign, Elizabeth!

They had "bobbing for mice" in the bathtub. (Rubber mice, but quite realistic in appearance!)

Happy Halloween!Lisabet Saraihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05162514190572269660noreply@blogger.com
